35 Contend, O Lord, with those who ^(A)contend with me;
    ^(B)fight against those who fight against me!

43 ^(A)Vindicate me, O God, and ^(B)defend my cause
    against an ungodly people,
from ^(C)the deceitful and unjust man
    deliver me!

^154 (A)Plead my cause and redeem me;
    ^(B)give me life according to your promise!

³⁶ Therefore thus says the Lord:
“Behold, ^(A)I will plead your cause
    and take vengeance for you.
^(B)I will dry up her sea
    and ^(C)make her fountain dry,

²⁵ For thus says the Lord:
^(A)“Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken,
    and the prey of the tyrant be rescued,
for I will contend with those who contend with you,
    and I will save your children.

¹¹ for their ^(A)Redeemer is strong;
    he will ^(B)plead their cause against you.

²³ for ^(A)the Lord will plead their cause
    and rob of life those who rob them.
