^19 (D)Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
    ^(E)but the Lord delivers him out of them all.

^16 (A)Come and hear, all you who fear God,
    and I will tell what he has done for my soul.
¹⁷ I cried to him with my mouth,
    and high praise was on^[a] my tongue.^[b]
18 If I had ^(B)cherished iniquity in my heart,
    ^(C)the Lord would not have listened.
¹⁹ But truly ^(D)God has listened;
    he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

²⁰ Blessed be God,
    because he has not rejected my prayer
    or removed his steadfast love from me!

¹⁵ “Therefore they are before the throne of God,
    and ^(E)serve him day and night in his temple;
    and he who sits on the throne ^(F)will shelter them with his presence.
^16 (G)They shall hunger no more, neither thirst anymore;
    ^(H)the sun shall not strike them,
    nor any scorching heat.
¹⁷ For the Lamb in the midst of the throne ^(I)will be their shepherd,
    and he will guide them to springs of ^(J)living water,
and ^(K)God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
