¹² I have passed out of mind like one who is dead;
    I have become like a broken vessel.^(A)

¹⁴ its breaking is like that of a potter’s vessel
    that is smashed so ruthlessly
that among its fragments not a sherd is found
    for taking fire from the hearth
    or dipping water out of the cistern.^(A)

⁸³ For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke,
    yet I have not forgotten your statutes.^(A)

⁴ I am counted among those who go down to the Pit;
    I am like those who have no help,^(A)
5 like those forsaken among the dead,
    like the slain that lie in the grave,
like those whom you remember no more,
    for they are cut off from your hand.^(B)

⁹ You shall break them with a rod of iron
    and dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”^(A)

²⁷ to rule^[a] them with an iron scepter,
    as when clay pots are shattered—^(A)

¹¹ I said, I shall not see the Lord
