⁷ The Lord is my strength^(A) and my shield;
    my heart trusts^(B) in him, and he helps me.

    you removed my sackcloth^(C) and clothed me with joy,^(D)
12 that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent.

4     In God, whose word I praise—^(C)
in God I trust and am not afraid.^(D)
    What can mere mortals do to me?^(E)

    my heart rejoices in your salvation.^(B)

¹⁰ I delight greatly in the Lord;
    my soul rejoices^(A) in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
    and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,^(B)
as a bridegroom adorns his head^(C) like a priest,
    and as a bride^(D) adorns herself with her jewels.

⁸ The Lord is the strength^(A) of his people,
    a fortress of salvation^(B) for his anointed one.^(C)

² Surely God is my salvation;^(A)
    I will trust^(B) and not be afraid.
The Lord, the Lord himself,^(C) is my strength^(D) and my defense^[a];
