⁵ Because they have no regard for the deeds of the Lord
    and what his hands have done,^(A)
he will tear them down
    and never build them up again.

¹² They have harps and lyres at their banquets,
    pipes^(A) and timbrels^(B) and wine,
but they have no regard^(C) for the deeds of the Lord,
    no respect for the work of his hands.^(D)

²⁶ He punishes them for their wickedness^(A)
    where everyone can see them,
²⁷ because they turned from following him^(B)
    and had no regard for any of his ways.^(C)

⁴ For you make me glad by your deeds, Lord;
    I sing for joy^(A) at what your hands have done.^(B)
5 How great are your works,^(C) Lord,
    how profound your thoughts!^(D)
6 Senseless people^(E) do not know,
    fools do not understand,

⁵ His ways are always prosperous;
    your laws are rejected by^[a] him;
    he sneers at all his enemies.
