¹⁹ for Aaron and his sons ^(A)shall wash their hands and their feet in water from it. ²⁰ When they go into the tabernacle of meeting, or when they come near the altar to minister, to burn an offering made by fire to the Lord, they shall wash with water, lest they die.

Hold Fast Your Confession

¹⁹ Therefore, brethren, having ^(A)boldness^[a] to enter ^(B)the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, ²⁰ by a new and ^(C)living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh, ²¹ and having a High Priest over the house of God, ²² let us ^(D)draw near with a true heart ^(E)in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

^5 (A)not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through ^(B)the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

Men and Women in the Church

⁸ I desire therefore that the men pray ^(A)everywhere, ^(B)lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;

²⁸ But ^(A)let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. ²⁹ For he who eats and drinks ^[a]in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the ^[b]Lord’s body.

²³ Therefore ^(A)if you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, ^24 (B)leave your gift there before the altar, and go your way. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
