⁴⁴ As soon as they heard of me, they obeyed me;
    foreigners came cringing to me.

¹⁵ Those who hate the Lord would cringe before him,
    and their doom would last forever.

³ Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!
    Because of your great power, your enemies cringe before you.^(A)

²⁹ Happy are you, O Israel! Who is like you,
    a people saved by the Lord,
the shield of your help
    and the sword of your triumph!
Your enemies shall come fawning to you,
    but you shall tread on their backs.”^(A)

⁸ The Lord has sworn by his right hand
    and by his mighty arm:
I will not again give your grain
    to be food for your enemies,
and foreigners shall not drink the wine
    for which you have labored,^(A)

³⁰ Rebuke the wild animals that live among the reeds,
    the herd of bulls with the calves of the peoples.
Trample^[a] under foot those who lust after tribute;
    scatter the peoples who delight in war.^[b](A)
