⁴² Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind;
I ^(A)cast them out like dirt in the streets.

⁵ They shall be like mighty men,
Who ^(A)tread down their enemies
In the mire of the streets in the battle.
They shall fight because the Lord is with them,
And the riders on horses shall be put to shame.

⁶ I will send him against ^(A)an ungodly nation,
And against the people of My wrath
I will ^(B)give him charge,
To seize the spoil, to take the prey,
And to tread them down like the mire of the streets.

^3 (A)You shall trample the wicked,
For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet
On the day that I do this,”
Says the Lord of hosts.

¹⁵ “Behold, ^(A)I will make you into a new threshing sledge with sharp teeth;
You shall thresh the mountains and beat them small,
And make the hills like chaff.
¹⁶ You shall ^(B)winnow them, the wind shall carry them away,
And the whirlwind shall scatter them;
You shall rejoice in the Lord,
And ^(C)glory in the Holy One of Israel.
