¹¹ As the Amorites retreated down the road from Beth-horon, the Lord destroyed them with a terrible hailstorm from heaven that continued until they reached Azekah. The hail killed more of the enemy than the Israelites killed with the sword.

²¹ There was a terrible hailstorm, and hailstones weighing as much as seventy-five pounds^[a] fell from the sky onto the people below. They cursed God because of the terrible plague of the hailstorm.

⁵ But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.”

² As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as light.

²³ So Moses lifted his staff toward the sky, and the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed toward the earth. The Lord sent a tremendous hailstorm against all the land of Egypt. ²⁴ Never in all the history of Egypt had there been a storm like that, with such devastating hail and continuous lightning.
