¹¹ As they fled before Israel on the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah, the Lord hurled large hailstones^(A) down on them,^(B) and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of the Israelites.

²¹ From the sky huge hailstones,^(A) each weighing about a hundred pounds,^[a] fell on people. And they cursed God^(B) on account of the plague of hail,^(C) because the plague was so terrible.

⁵ While he was still speaking, a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.^(A) Listen to him!”^(B)

² There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light.

²³ When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the Lord sent thunder^(A) and hail,^(B) and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt; ²⁴ hail fell and lightning flashed back and forth. It was the worst storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation.^(C)
