¹⁰ They close their hearts to pity;
    with their mouths they speak arrogantly.^(A)

³ Talk no more so very proudly;
    let not arrogance come from your mouth,
for the Lord is a God of knowledge,
    and by him actions are weighed.^(A)

¹⁸ Let the lying lips be stilled
    that speak insolently against the righteous
    with pride and contempt.^(A)

⁴ Our soul has had more than its fill
    of the scorn of those who are at ease,
    of the contempt of the proud.^(A)

⁷⁰ Their hearts are thick like fat,^[a]
    but I delight in your law.^(A)

²⁷ because they have covered their faces with their fat
