⁶ Then Adoni-Bezek fled, and they pursued him and caught him and cut off his thumbs and big toes. ⁷ And Adoni-Bezek said, “Seventy kings with their thumbs and big toes cut off used to gather scraps under my table; ^(A)as I have done, so God has repaid me.” Then they brought him to Jerusalem, and there he died.

The Kings Conquered by Joshua

⁷ And these are the kings of the country ^(A)which Joshua and the children of Israel conquered on this side of the Jordan, on the west, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon as far as ^[a]Mount Halak and the ascent to ^(B)Seir, which Joshua ^(C)gave to the tribes of Israel as a possession according to their divisions,

²³ And they did so, and brought out those five kings to him from the cave: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.

²⁴ So it was, when they brought out those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him, “Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.” And they drew near and ^(A)put their feet on their necks.
