⁶ and he established them for ever and ever—
    he issued a decree^(A) that will never pass away.

he who appoints^(A) the sun
    to shine by day,
who decrees the moon and stars
    to shine by night,^(B)
who stirs up the sea^(C)
    so that its waves roar^(D)—
    the Lord Almighty is his name:^(E)
36 “Only if these decrees^(F) vanish from my sight,”
    declares the Lord,
“will Israel^(G) ever cease
    being a nation before me.”

³⁷ it will be established forever like the moon,
    the faithful witness in the sky.”^(A)

³³ Do you know the laws^(A) of the heavens?^(B)
    Can you set up God’s^[a] dominion over the earth?

²⁷ I was there when he set the heavens in place,^(A)
    when he marked out the horizon^(B) on the face of the deep,
²⁸ when he established the clouds above^(C)
    and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,^(D)
29 when he gave the sea its boundary^(E)
    so the waters would not overstep his command,^(F)
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.^(G)

¹⁰ when I fixed limits for it^(A)
    and set its doors and bars in place,^(B)
11 when I said, ‘This far you may come and no farther;^(C)
    here is where your proud waves halt’?^(D)
