⁵ Let evil recoil^(A) on those who slander me;
    in your faithfulness^(B) destroy them.

¹⁶ Truly I am your servant, Lord;^(A)
    I serve you just as my mother did;^(B)
    you have freed me from my chains.^(C)

¹⁵ but swept Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea;^(A)
His love endures forever.

¹⁶ to him who led his people through the wilderness;^(B)
His love endures forever.

¹⁷ to him who struck down great kings,^(C)
His love endures forever.
¹⁸ and killed mighty kings^(D)—
His love endures forever.
¹⁹ Sihon king of the Amorites^(E)
His love endures forever.
²⁰ and Og king of Bashan^(F)—
His love endures forever.

²³ But you, God, will bring down the wicked
    into the pit^(A) of decay;
the bloodthirsty and deceitful^(B)
    will not live out half their days.^(C)

But as for me, I trust in you.^(D)

⁵ Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:
    He will snatch you up and pluck^(A) you from your tent;
    he will uproot^(B) you from the land of the living.^(C)
