² “Though^(A) they dig into ^[a]hell,
From there My hand shall take them;
^(B)Though they climb up to heaven,
From there I will bring them down;
³ And though they ^(C)hide themselves on top of Carmel,
From there I will search and take them;
Though they hide from My sight at the bottom of the sea,
From there I will command the serpent, and it shall bite them;
⁴ Though they go into captivity before their enemies,
From there ^(D)I will command the sword,
And it shall slay them.
^(E)I will set My eyes on them for harm and not for good.”

“I ^(A)cried out to the Lord because of my affliction,
^(B)And He answered me.

“Out of the belly of Sheol I cried,
And You heard my voice.

²¹ “For^(A) His eyes are on the ways of man,
And He sees all his steps.
^22 (B)There is no darkness nor shadow of death
Where the workers of iniquity may hide themselves.

^11 (A)Hell^[a] and ^[b]Destruction are before the Lord;
So how much more ^(B)the hearts of the sons of men.

^(B)“You were the seal of perfection,
Full of wisdom and perfect in beauty.
¹³ You were in ^(C)Eden, the garden of God;
Every precious stone was your covering:
The sardius, topaz, and diamond,
Beryl, onyx, and jasper,
Sapphire, turquoise, and emerald with gold.
The workmanship of ^(D)your timbrels and pipes
Was prepared for you on the day you were created.

¹⁴ “You were the anointed ^(E)cherub who covers;
I established you;
You were on ^(F)the holy mountain of God;
You walked back and forth in the midst of fiery stones.
¹⁵ You were perfect in your ways from the day you were created,
Till ^(G)iniquity was found in you.

¹⁶ “By the abundance of your trading
You became filled with violence within,
And you sinned;
Therefore I cast you as a profane thing
Out of the mountain of God;
And I destroyed you, ^(H)O covering cherub,
From the midst of the fiery stones.

¹⁷ “Your ^(I)heart was ^[a]lifted up because of your beauty;
You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor;
I cast you to the ground,
I laid you before kings,
That they might gaze at you.
