⁴⁰ “Now, my God, may your eyes be open and your ears attentive^(A) to the prayers offered in this place.

¹¹ Lord, let your ear be attentive^(A) to the prayer of this your servant and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give your servant success today by granting him favor^(B) in the presence of this man.”

⁶ let your ear be attentive and your eyes open to hear^(A) the prayer^(B) your servant is praying before you day and night for your servants, the people of Israel. I confess^(C) the sins we Israelites, including myself and my father’s family, have committed against you.

¹⁷ “Now, our God, hear the prayers and petitions of your servant. For your sake, Lord, look with favor^(A) on your desolate sanctuary. ¹⁸ Give ear,^(B) our God, and hear;^(C) open your eyes and see^(D) the desolation of the city that bears your Name.^(E) We do not make requests of you because we are righteous, but because of your great mercy.^{(F) 19} Lord, listen! Lord, forgive!^(G) Lord, hear and act! For your sake,^(H) my God, do not delay, because your city and your people bear your Name.”
