⁷ Deep calls to deep
    at the roar of your waterfalls;
^(A)all your breakers and your ^(B)waves
    have gone over me.

^3 (A)The snares of death encompassed me;
    the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me;
    I suffered distress and anguish.
⁴ Then ^(B)I called on the name of the Lord:
    “O Lord, I pray, deliver my soul!”

¹⁴ Deliver me
    from sinking in ^(A)the mire;
^(B)let me be delivered from my enemies
    and from ^(C)the deep waters.
¹⁵ Let not the flood sweep over me,
    or the deep swallow me up,
    or ^(D)the pit close ^(E)its mouth over me.

^53 (A)they flung me alive into the pit
    ^(B)and cast stones on me;
^54 (C)water closed over my head;
    I said, ^(D)‘I am lost.’

²⁰ You who have ^(A)made me see many troubles and calamities
    will ^(B)revive me again;
from the depths of the earth
    you will bring me up again.

    For ^(B)the waters have come up to my neck.^[a]

    where there is no foothold;
