²² The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases,^[a]
    his mercies never come to an end;^(A)

    and your judgments are right.^(A)

    for I have rebelled against his word;
but hear, all you peoples,
    and behold my suffering;
my young women and young men

7 O Lord, my Lord, my strong deliverer,
    you have covered my head in the day of battle.^(C)
8 Do not grant, O Lord, the desires of the wicked;

⁹ Those who surround me lift up their heads;^[c]
    let the mischief of their lips overwhelm them!^(E)
10 Let burning coals fall on them!
    Let them be flung into pits, no more to rise!^(F)
11 Do not let the slanderer be established in the land;
    let evil speedily hunt down the violent!^(G)

    who has not given us
    as prey to their teeth.^(A)
7 We have escaped like a bird
    from the snare of the hunters;
the snare is broken,
