²⁴ When they heard this, they raised their voices together in prayer to God.^(A) “Sovereign Lord,” they said, “you made the heavens and the earth and the sea, and everything in them.^(B)

¹⁶ “Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, enthroned^(A) between the cherubim,^(B) you alone are God^(C) over all the kingdoms^(D) of the earth. You have made heaven and earth.^{(E) 17} Give ear, Lord, and hear;^(F) open your eyes, Lord, and see;^(G) listen to all the words Sennacherib^(H) has sent to ridicule^(I) the living God.^(J)

¹⁸ “It is true, Lord, that the Assyrian kings have laid waste all these peoples and their lands.^{(K) 19} They have thrown their gods into the fire^(L) and destroyed them,^(M) for they were not gods^(N) but only wood and stone, fashioned by human hands.^{(O) 20} Now, Lord our God, deliver^(P) us from his hand, so that all the kingdoms of the earth^(Q) may know that you, Lord, are the only God.^[a](R)”
