⁶ Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
    “May those who love^(A) you be secure.

¹⁸ May it please you to prosper Zion,^(A)
    to build up the walls of Jerusalem.^(B)

³ I will bless those who bless you,
    and whoever curses you I will curse;^(A)
and all peoples on earth
    will be blessed through you.^(B)”^[a]

⁵⁰ You who have escaped the sword,
    leave^(A) and do not linger!
Remember^(B) the Lord in a distant land,^(C)
    and call to mind Jerusalem.”

⁶ May my tongue cling to the roof^(A) of my mouth
    if I do not remember^(B) you,
if I do not consider Jerusalem^(C)
    my highest joy.

⁷ Remember, Lord, what the Edomites^(D) did
    on the day Jerusalem fell.^(E)
“Tear it down,” they cried,
    “tear it down to its foundations!”^(F)

⁹ Like a lion they crouch and lie down,
    like a lioness^(A)—who dares to rouse them?

“May those who bless you be blessed^(B)
    and those who curse you be cursed!”^(C)
