¹⁵ May their sins always remain before^(A) the Lord,
    that he may blot out their name^(B) from the earth.

¹⁶ but the face of the Lord is against^(A) those who do evil,^(B)
    to blot out their name^(C) from the earth.

⁸ You have set our iniquities before you,
    our secret sins^(A) in the light of your presence.^(B)

¹⁷ The memory of him perishes from the earth;^(A)
    he has no name^(B) in the land.^(C)

²² Although you wash^(A) yourself with soap^(B)
    and use an abundance of cleansing powder,
    the stain of your guilt is still before me,”
declares the Sovereign Lord.^(C)

¹⁵ You will leave your name
    for my chosen ones to use in their curses;^(A)
the Sovereign Lord will put you to death,
    but to his servants he will give another name.^(B)

¹³ May his descendants be cut off,^(A)
    their names blotted out^(B) from the next generation.

⁹ Hide your face from my sins^(A)
    and blot out^(B) all my iniquity.
