Psalm 108:12
New King James Version
12 Give us help from trouble,
For the help of man is useless.
Jeremiah 17:5-8
New King James Version
5 Thus says the Lord:
(A)“Cursed is the man who trusts in man
And makes (B)flesh his [a]strength,
Whose heart departs from the Lord.
6 For he shall be (C)like a shrub in the desert,
And (D)shall not see when good comes,
But shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness,
(E)In a salt land which is not inhabited.
7 “Blessed(F) is the man who trusts in the Lord,
And whose hope is the Lord.
8 For he shall be (G)like a tree planted by the waters,
Which spreads out its roots by the river,
And will not [b]fear when heat comes;
But its leaf will be green,
And will not be anxious in the year of drought,
Nor will cease from yielding fruit.

Lamentations 4:17

17 Still (A)our eyes failed us,
Watching vainly for our help;
In our watching we watched
For a nation that could not save us.
Isaiah 31:3
New King James Version
3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God;
And their horses are flesh, and not spirit.
When the Lord stretches out His hand,
Both he who helps will fall,
And he who is helped will fall down;
They all will perish (A)together.
Isaiah 30:3-5
New King James Version
3 (A)Therefore the strength of Pharaoh
Shall be your shame,
And trust in the shadow of Egypt
Shall be your humiliation.
4 For his princes were at (B)Zoan,
And his ambassadors came to Hanes.
5 (C)They were all ashamed of a people who could not benefit them,
Or be help or benefit,
But a shame and also a reproach.”

Psalm 20
New King James Version
The Assurance of God’s Saving Work
To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
20 May the Lord answer you in the day of trouble;
May the name of the God of Jacob [a]defend you;
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary,
And strengthen you out of Zion;
3 May He remember all your offerings,
And accept your burnt sacrifice. Selah
4 May He grant you according to your heart’s desire,
And (A)fulfill all your [b]purpose.
5 We will rejoice in your salvation,
And in the name of our God we will set up our banners!
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that the Lord saves His [c]anointed;
He will answer him from His holy heaven
With the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in (B)horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They have bowed down and fallen;
But we have risen and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord!
May the King answer us when we call.
