⁷ So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God who gives the growth.

¹⁰ He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.^[a]

¹² For there shall be a sowing of peace; the vine shall yield its fruit, the ground shall give its produce, and the skies shall give their dew, and I will cause the remnant of this people to possess all these things.^(A)

¹⁰ Therefore the heavens above you have withheld the dew, and the earth has withheld its produce.^{(A) 11} And I have called for a drought^[a] on the land and the hills, on the grain, the new wine, the oil, on what the soil produces, on humans and animals, and on all their labors.”^(B)

²⁶ They shall live in safety in it and shall build houses and plant vineyards. They shall live in safety when I execute judgments upon all their neighbors who have treated them with contempt. And they shall know that I am the Lord their God.^(A)

⁵ Build houses and live in them; plant gardens and eat what they produce.

¹² Isaac sowed seed in that land and in the same year reaped a hundredfold. The Lord blessed him,^(A)

¹⁷ yet he has not left himself without a witness in doing good, giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons and filling you with food and your hearts with joy.”^(A)

¹⁶ how did you fare?^[a] When one came to a heap of twenty measures, there were but ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw fifty measures, there were but twenty.^{(A) 17} I struck you and every work of your hands with blight and mildew and hail, yet you did not return to me, says the Lord.^{(B) 18} Consider from this day on, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month. Since the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid, consider:^{(C) 19} Is there any seed left in the barn? Do the vine, the fig tree, the pomegranate, and the olive tree still yield nothing? From this day on I will bless you.”
