⁶ So Israel was greatly impoverished because of the Midianites, and the children of Israel ^(A)cried out to the Lord.

⁷ And it came to pass, when the children of Israel cried out to the Lord because of the Midianites, ⁸ that the Lord sent a prophet to the children of Israel, who said to them, “Thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘I brought you up from Egypt and brought you out of the ^(B)house of ^[a]bondage; ⁹ and I delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians and out of the hand of all who oppressed you, and ^(C)drove them out before you and gave you their land. ¹⁰ Also I said to you, “I am the Lord your God; ^(D)do not fear the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell.” But you have not obeyed My ^(E)voice.’ ”

³ And the children of Israel cried out to the Lord; for Jabin had nine hundred ^(A)chariots of iron, and for twenty years ^(B)he had harshly oppressed the children of Israel.

¹² Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and ^(A)humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers, ¹³ and prayed to Him; and He ^(B)received his entreaty, heard his supplication, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh ^(C)knew that the Lord was God.

⁷ And the Lord said: ^(A)“I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry ^(B)because of their taskmasters, ^(C)for I know their ^[a]sorrows. ⁸ So ^(D)I have come down to ^(E)deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land ^(F)to a good and large land, to a land ^(G)flowing with milk and honey, to the place of ^(H)the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.
