Then all the people said “Amen” and “Praise the Lord.”

¹⁰ And they cried out in a loud voice:

¹¹ All the angels were standing around the throne and around the elders^(C) and the four living creatures.^(D) They fell down on their faces^(E) before the throne and worshiped God, ¹² saying:

¹⁴ But thanks be to God,^(A) who always leads us as captives in Christ’s triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma^(B) of the knowledge^(C) of him everywhere.

²⁵ “Therefore this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will now restore the fortunes of Jacob^[a](A) and will have compassion^(B) on all the people of Israel, and I will be zealous for my holy name.^{(C) 26} They will forget their shame and all the unfaithfulness they showed toward me when they lived in safety^(D) in their land with no one to make them afraid.^{(E) 27} When I have brought them back from the nations and have gathered them from the countries of their enemies, I will be proved holy through them in the sight of many nations.^{(F) 28} Then they will know that I am the Lord their God, for though I sent them into exile among the nations, I will gather them^(G) to their own land, not leaving any behind.^{(H) 29} I will no longer hide my face^(I) from them, for I will pour out my Spirit^(J) on the people of Israel, declares the Sovereign Lord.^(K)”

²¹ and say to them, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will take the Israelites out of the nations where they have gone. I will gather them from all around and bring them back into their own land.^{(A) 22} I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel.^(B) There will be one king over all of them and they will never again be two nations or be divided into two kingdoms.^{(C) 23} They will no longer defile^(D) themselves with their idols and vile images or with any of their offenses, for I will save them from all their sinful backsliding,^[a](E) and I will cleanse them. They will be my people, and I will be their God.^(F)

²⁴ “‘My servant David^(G) will be king^(H) over them, and they will all have one shepherd.^(I) They will follow my laws and be careful to keep my decrees.^{(J) 25} They will live in the land I gave to my servant Jacob, the land where your ancestors lived.^(K) They and their children and their children’s children will live there forever,^(L) and David my servant will be their prince forever.^{(M) 26} I will make a covenant of peace^(N) with them; it will be an everlasting covenant.^(O) I will establish them and increase their numbers,^(P) and I will put my sanctuary among them^(Q) forever.^{(R) 27} My dwelling place^(S) will be with them; I will be their God, and they will be my people.^{(T) 28} Then the nations will know that I the Lord make Israel holy,^(U) when my sanctuary is among them forever.^(V)’”

²⁴ “‘For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land.^{(A) 25} I will sprinkle^(B) clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse^(C) you from all your impurities^(D) and from all your idols.^{(E) 26} I will give you a new heart^(F) and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone^(G) and give you a heart of flesh.^{(H) 27} And I will put my Spirit^(I) in you and move you to follow my decrees^(J) and be careful to keep my laws.^{(K) 28} Then you will live in the land I gave your ancestors; you will be my people,^(L) and I will be your God.^(M)

³⁷ I will surely gather^(A) them from all the lands where I banish them in my furious anger^(B) and great wrath; I will bring them back to this place and let them live in safety.^{(C) 38} They will be my people,^(D) and I will be their God. ³⁹ I will give them singleness^(E) of heart and action, so that they will always fear^(F) me and that all will then go well for them and for their children after them. ⁴⁰ I will make an everlasting covenant^(G) with them: I will never stop doing good to them, and I will inspire^(H) them to fear me, so that they will never turn away from me.^{(I) 41} I will rejoice^(J) in doing them good^(K) and will assuredly plant^(L) them in this land with all my heart and soul.^(M)
