¹³ They soon forgat his works; they waited not for his counsel:

²⁴ And the people murmured against Moses, saying, What shall we drink?

¹¹ And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.

² And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness:

¹⁷ Thus saith the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel; I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.

¹⁸ O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

²⁵ But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

¹¹ Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

² Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the Lord?

³⁰ They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

⁷ And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us, or not?
