⁴³ Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. ^44 (A)Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.

^24 (A)“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me; ^(B)for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

²⁶ If anyone serves Me, let him ^(A)follow Me; and ^(B)where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor.

Pressing Toward the Goal

¹² Not that I have already ^(A)attained,^[a] or am already ^(B)perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. ¹³ Brethren, I do not count myself to have ^[b]apprehended; but one thing I do, ^(C)forgetting those things which are behind and ^(D)reaching forward to those things which are ahead, ^14 (E)I press toward the goal for the prize of ^(F)the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

¹⁵ Therefore let us, as many as are ^(G)mature, ^(H)have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, ^(I)God will reveal even this to you.

Submit to Government

13 Let every soul be ^(A)subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. ² Therefore whoever resists ^(B)the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will ^[a]bring judgment on themselves. ³ For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? ^(C)Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. ⁴ For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
