³⁵ Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David.

¹¹ The Lord hath sworn in truth unto David; he will not turn from it; Of the fruit of thy body will I set upon thy throne.

¹⁷ Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

¹³ For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

² In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;
