⁷ It is God who judges:^(A)
    He brings one down, he exalts another.^(B)

⁵² He has brought down rulers from their thrones
    but has lifted up the humble.^(A)

²¹ He changes times and seasons;^(A)
    he deposes^(B) kings and raises up others.^(C)
He gives wisdom^(D) to the wise
    and knowledge to the discerning.^(E)
22 He reveals deep and hidden things;^(F)
    he knows what lies in darkness,^(G)
    and light^(H) dwells with him.

⁶ The Lord sustains the humble^(A)
    but casts the wicked^(B) to the ground.

⁷ He raises the poor^(A) from the dust
    and lifts the needy^(B) from the ash heap;
⁸ he seats them^(C) with princes,
    with the princes of his people.
