    and without cause dug a pit^(C) for me,

    they have completely engulfed me.

³ See how they lie in wait for me!
    Fierce men conspire^(A) against me
    for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
⁴ I have done no wrong,^(B) yet they are ready to attack me.^(C)
    Arise to help me; look on my plight!^(D)

²⁰ They do not speak peaceably,
    but devise false accusations^(A)
    against those who live quietly in the land.

¹² Many bulls^(A) surround me;^(B)
    strong bulls of Bashan^(C) encircle me.
