² The wicked in his pride ^[a]persecutes the poor;
^(A)Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised.

^12 (A)For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips,
Let them even be taken in their pride,
And for the cursing and lying which they speak.

¹¹ Let not the foot of pride come against me,
And let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.

^16 (A)His trouble shall return upon his own head,
And his violent dealing shall come down on ^[a]his own crown.

^22 (A)His own iniquities entrap the wicked man,
And he is caught in the cords of his sin.
