¹³ To fear the Lord^(A) is to hate evil;^(B)
    I hate^(C) pride and arrogance,
    evil behavior and perverse speech.

⁶ Through love and faithfulness sin is atoned for;
    through the fear of the Lord^(A) evil is avoided.^(B)

¹⁰ Let those who love the Lord hate evil,^(A)
    for he guards^(B) the lives of his faithful ones^(C)
    and delivers^(D) them from the hand of the wicked.^(E)

³ “Do not keep talking so proudly
    or let your mouth speak such arrogance,^(A)
for the Lord is a God who knows,^(B)
    and by him deeds^(C) are weighed.^(D)

²⁴ Keep your mouth free of perversity;
    keep corrupt talk far from your lips.

“God opposes the proud
    but shows favor to the humble.”^[a](C)

¹⁵ Hate evil,^(A) love good;^(B)
    maintain justice in the courts.^(C)
Perhaps^(D) the Lord God Almighty will have mercy^(E)
    on the remnant^(F) of Joseph.

¹² A troublemaker and a villain,
    who goes about with a corrupt mouth,
