Proverbs 7
New King James Version
The Wiles of a Harlot
7 My son, keep my words,
And (A)treasure my commands within you.
2 (B)Keep my commands and live,
(C)And my law as the apple of your eye.
3 (D)Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
And call understanding your nearest kin,
5 (E)That they may keep you from the immoral woman,
From the seductress who flatters with her words.
The Crafty Harlot
6 For at the window of my house
I looked through my lattice,
7 And saw among the simple,
I perceived among the [a]youths,
A young man (F)devoid[b] of understanding,
8 Passing along the street near her corner;
And he took the path to her house
9 (G)In the twilight, in the evening,
In the black and dark night.
10 And there a woman met him,
With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart.
11 (H)She was loud and rebellious,
(I)Her feet would not stay at home.
12 At times she was outside, at times in the open square,
Lurking at every corner.
13 So she caught him and kissed him;
With an [c]impudent face she said to him:
14 “I have peace offerings with me;
Today I have paid my vows.
15 So I came out to meet you,
Diligently to seek your face,
And I have found you.
16 I have spread my bed with tapestry,
Colored coverings of (J)Egyptian linen.
17 I have perfumed my bed
With myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let us take our fill of love until morning;
Let us delight ourselves with love.
19 For [d]my husband is not at home;
He has gone on a long journey;
20 He has taken a bag of money [e]with him,
And will come home [f]on the appointed day.”
21 [g]With (K)her enticing speech she caused him to yield,
(L)With her flattering lips she [h]seduced him.
22 Immediately he went after her, as an ox goes to the slaughter,
Or [i]as a fool to the correction of the [j]stocks,
23 Till an arrow struck his liver.
(M)As a bird hastens to the snare,
He did not know it [k]would cost his life.
24 Now therefore, listen to me, my children;
Pay attention to the words of my mouth:
25 Do not let your heart turn aside to her ways,
Do not stray into her paths;
26 For she has cast down many wounded,
And (N)all who were slain by her were strong men.
27 (O)Her house is the way to [l]hell,
Descending to the chambers of death.

7 Hijo mío, guarda mis palabras
Y atesora mis mandamientos contigo(A).
2 Guarda mis mandamientos y vivirás(B),
Y mi enseñanza[a] como la niña de tus ojos(C).
3 Átalos a tus dedos(D),
Escríbelos en la tabla de tu corazón(E).
4 Di a la sabiduría: «Tú eres mi hermana»,
Y llama a la inteligencia tu mejor amiga,
5 Para que te guarden de la mujer extraña,
De la desconocida[b] que lisonjea[c] con sus palabras.
6 ¶Porque desde la ventana de mi casa
Miraba por la celosía(F),
7 Y vi entre los simples(G),
Distinguí entre los muchachos[d]
A un joven falto de juicio[e](H),
8 Pasando por la calle, cerca de su[f] esquina(I);
Iba[g] camino de su[h] casa(J),
9 Al atardecer, al anochecer[i](K),
En medio[j] de la noche y la oscuridad.
10 Entonces una mujer le sale al encuentro,
Vestida como ramera y astuta de corazón(L).
11 Es alborotadora(M) y rebelde,
Sus pies no permanecen en casa(N);
12 Está ya en las calles, ya en las plazas(O),
Y acecha(P) por todas las esquinas.
13 Así que ella lo agarra y lo besa,
Y descarada[k](Q) le dice:
14 «Tenía que ofrecer ofrendas de paz[l](R),
Y hoy he cumplido mis votos(S);
15 Por eso he salido a encontrarte,
Buscando tu rostro con ansiedad, y te he hallado.
16 -»He tendido mi lecho con colchas(T),
Con linos de Egipto en colores(U).
17 -»He rociado mi cama
Con mirra, áloes(V) y canela(W).
18 -»Ven, embriaguémonos de amor hasta la mañana,
Deleitémonos con caricias.
19 -»Porque mi[m] marido no está en casa,
Se ha ido a un largo viaje;
20 Se ha llevado en la mano la bolsa del dinero(X),
Volverá a casa para la luna llena».
21 Con sus palabras persuasivas lo atrae,
Lo seduce con sus labios lisonjeros[n](Y).
22 Al instante la sigue
Como va el buey al matadero,
O como uno en grillos al castigo de un necio[o],
23 Hasta que una flecha le traspasa el hígado;
Como el ave que se precipita en la trampa(Z),
Y no sabe que esto le costará la vida.
24 ¶Ahora pues, hijos míos, escúchenme,
Y presten atención a las palabras de mi boca(AA).
25 No se desvíe tu corazón hacia sus caminos,
No te extravíes en sus sendas(AB).
26 Porque muchas son las víctimas[p] derribadas por ella,
Y numerosos los que ha matado(AC).
27 Su casa es el camino al Seol,
Que desciende a las cámaras de la muerte(AD).

2 Con hãy giữ những mệnh lệnh của cha mà sống;
Giữ những lời dạy dỗ của cha như con ngươi của mắt con;
3 Con hãy cột chúng nơi các ngón tay con;
Con hãy ghi khắc chúng vào tâm khảm con.
4 Con hãy nói với sự khôn ngoan rằng, “Nàng là em gái ta,”
Con hãy coi sự thông sáng như bạn thân của con,
5 Ðể chúng giữ con khỏi người phụ nữ không đứng đắn,
Tức giữ con khỏi người đàn bà dâm đãng có lời dụ dỗ ngọt ngào.
6 Vì từ trong nhà nhìn qua cửa sổ,
Cha nhìn qua khung cửa sổ của nhà mình,
7 Cha thấy trong số những kẻ ngây thơ khờ khạo,
Cha để ý trong số những trai trẻ có một chàng trai khờ dại,
8 Hắn đi dọc theo con đường dẫn đến góc nhà nàng,
Rồi hắn tẻ vào lối dẫn vào nhà nàng,
9 Khi trời chạng vạng, lúc trời sụp tối,
Khi màn đêm vừa buông xuống, lúc bóng tối bắt đầu bao trùm.
10 Bấy giờ một phụ nữ đi ra đón hắn;
Nàng chưng diện như một con điếm với quỷ kế đầy lòng.
11 Miệng nàng nói om sòm và không giữ gìn nết na ý tứ;
Chân nàng thường không ở trong nhà,
12 Khi thì ở ngoài đường, khi thì ở đầu phố;
Tại các góc đường nàng rình rập đợi chờ.
13 Nàng chụp lấy hắn và ôm hôn hắn,
Rồi với mặt chai mày đá nàng nói với hắn rằng,
14 “Em phải dâng một của lễ tạ ơn ở nhà;
Hôm nay em phải trả những gì em đã thề nguyện;
15 Vì thế em đi ra kiếm anh;
Em tìm anh hết sức, và bây giờ em mới tìm được.
16 Em đã làm giường sẵn rồi,
Vải trải giường làm bằng chỉ màu của Ai-cập.
17 Em đã tẩm dầu thơm trên giường,
Ðó là dầu thơm của mộc dược, lư hội, và quế hương.
18 Hãy đến, chúng ta hãy ân ái với nhau cho đến sáng;
Chúng ta hãy hưởng khoái lạc của yêu đương.
19 Vì chồng em không có ở nhà;
Hắn đã đi xa.
20 Hắn đã mang túi tiền theo hắn;
Hắn sẽ không về nhà cho đến trăng rằm.”
21 Nàng dùng những lời quyến dụ như thế để thuyết phục hắn;
Nàng dụ dỗ hắn bằng những lời lẽ ngọt ngào.
22 Hắn bèn đi theo nàng như con bò bị dẫn đến lò làm thịt,
Như con nai tiến lại bẫy đang chờ,
23 Cho đến khi mũi tên ghim xuyên qua gan hắn.
Hắn như con chim bay chúi vào bẫy lưới,
Mà không biết rằng làm như thế là hại chết đời mình.
24 Vậy con ơi, bây giờ hãy nghe lời cha dạy bảo,
Hãy chú tâm để ý những lời nói của miệng cha.
25 Ðừng bao giờ để lòng con hướng theo đường lối nàng;
Chớ khi nào để con đi lạc vào các nẻo nàng.
26 Vì nàng đã làm cho nhiều người thân bại danh liệt,
Các nạn nhân của nàng đông không biết ngần nào.
27 Ðường tới nhà nàng là đường dẫn vào âm phủ,
Ðường đưa xuống các tù ngục của tử thần.
