²⁷ Her house is the way to Sheol,
    going down to the chambers of death.^(A)

⁵ Her feet go down to death;
    her steps follow the path to Sheol.

¹⁸ But they do not know that the dead^[a] are there,
    that her guests are in the depths of Sheol.^(A)

¹⁸ for her way^[a] leads down to death
    and her paths to the shades;^(A)
19 those who go to her never come back,
    nor do they regain the paths of life.
