³⁰ People do not despise a thief if he steals
To ^(A)satisfy ^[a]himself when he is hungry;
³¹ But when he is found, he must ^(B)repay seven times as much;
He must give up all the property of his house.

^22 (A)Do not rob the poor because he is poor,
Nor ^(B)crush the needy at the gate;

⁷ Two things I have asked of You;
Do not refuse me before I die:
⁸ Keep deception and ^[a]lies far from me,
Give me neither poverty nor riches;
Feed me with the ^(A)food that is my portion,
⁹ So that I will not be ^(B)full and deny ^(C)You and say, “Who is the Lord?”
And that I will not become ^(D)impoverished and steal,
And ^(E)profane the name of my God.
