²⁶for a prostitute’s fee is only a loaf of bread,^[a]
but the wife of another stalks a man’s precious life.^(A)

²⁰“So is the way of an adulterous woman:
She eats and wipes her mouth,
and says, ‘I have done nothing wrong.’

²⁰This is the way of an adulteress:
she eats and wipes her mouth
and says, “I have done no wrong.”^(A)
