4 Hear, O sons, the ^(A)discipline of a father,
And ^(B)pay attention that you may know understanding,

^20 (A)My son, observe the commandment of your father
And do not abandon the ^[a]law of your mother;

¹³ A ^(A)foolish son is destruction to his father,
And the ^(B)contentions of a wife are a constant dripping.

¹⁴ House and wealth are an ^(A)inheritance from fathers,
But a wife who has insight is from Yahweh.
