2 When (A)arrogance comes, then comes disgrace,But with the meek is wisdom.
2 When pride comes, so does shame, but wisdom brings humility.
15 The (A)way of an ignorant fool is right in his own eyes,But a wise man is he who listens to counsel.
15 Fools see their own way as right, but the wise listen to advice.
10 With arrogance [a]comes only quarreling,But with those who receive counsel is wisdom.
10 The empty-headed cause conflict out of pride; those who take advice are wise.
5 An ignorant fool spurns his father’s discipline,But he who keeps reproof is prudent.
5 A fool doesn’t like a father’s instruction, but those who heed correction are mature.
33 The [a]fear of Yahweh is the discipline [b]leading to wisdom,And before glory comes humility.
33 The fear of the Lord is wise instruction, and humility comes before respect.
19 It is better to be (A)humble in spirit with the lowlyThan to (B)divide the spoil with the proud.
