^27 (A)Do not withhold good from ^[a]those to whom it is due,
When it is in your hand to do it.
^28 (B)Do not say to your neighbor, “Go, and come back,
And tomorrow I will give it,”
When it is there with you.

²⁴ There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more,
And there is one who holds back what is rightly due, and yet results only in want.
²⁵ The soul ^[a]that ^(A)blesses will be ^[b]enriched,
And he who ^(B)waters will himself be watered.
²⁶ He who withholds grain, the ^(C)people will curse him,
But ^(D)blessing will be on the head of him who ^(E)sells it.

²² A good man ^(A)leaves an inheritance to his ^[a]children’s children,
And the ^(B)wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous.

²¹ He who ^(A)despises his neighbor sins,
But how ^(B)blessed is he who is gracious to the ^[a]poor.

¹⁶ A man’s ^(A)gift makes room for him
And leads him into the presence of great men.

¹⁴ Like ^(A)clouds and ^(B)wind without rain
Is a man who boasts ^[a]of his gifts falsely.
