⁷ Be not wise in thine own eyes;
Fear Jehovah, and depart from evil:
⁸ It will be health to thy navel,
And ^[a]marrow to thy bones.

²⁹ The way of Jehovah is a stronghold to the upright;
But ^[a]it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.

⁷ When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish;
And the hope of ^[a]iniquity perisheth.

²² A cheerful heart ^[a]is a good medicine;
But a broken spirit drieth up the bones.

¹⁰ The name of Jehovah is a strong tower;
The righteous runneth into it, and ^[a]is safe.
¹¹ The rich man’s wealth is his strong city,
And as a high wall in his own imagination.

²⁹ The glory of young men is their strength;
And the beauty of old men is the hoary head.

²² A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty,
And bringeth down the strength of the confidence thereof.

³ Through wisdom is a house builded;
And by understanding it is established;

⁵ A wise man ^[a]is strong;
Yea, a man of knowledge ^[b]increaseth might.

¹⁰ If thou faint in the day of adversity,
Thy strength is small.
