⁶Better is the poor who walks in his integrity,
than he who is perverse in his ways, and he is rich.

Proverbs 28:6

International Standard Version

⁶It’s better to be poor and live a blameless life
than to be rich but crooked in one’s lifestyle.

¹⁹One who works his land will have an abundance of food;
but one who chases fantasies will have his fill of poverty.

¹⁹Whoever works his farmland will have abundant food,
but whoever chases fantasies will become very poor.

²⁵One who is greedy stirs up strife;
but one who trusts in Yahweh will prosper.

²⁵An arrogant^[a] man stirs up dissension,
but anyone who trusts in the Lord prospers.

²⁷One who gives to the poor has no lack;
but one who closes his eyes will have many curses.

²⁷Whoever gives to the poor will never lack,
but whoever shuts his eyes to their poverty^[a] will be cursed.
