But the lowly who understands ^[a]searches him.

¹⁶ A ^(A)leader who lacks discernment abounds in oppressions,
But he who hates greedy gain will prolong his days.

²⁰ A ^(A)faithful man will abound with blessings,
But he who ^(B)makes haste to be rich will not go unpunished.

²² A man with an ^(A)evil eye ^(B)hurries after wealth
And does not know that want will come upon him.

²⁷ He who ^(A)gives to the poor will never want,
But he who ^[a]shuts his eyes will have many curses.
