¹² When the ^(A)righteous triumph, there is great glory,
But ^(B)when the wicked rise, people ^[a]hide themselves.

²⁸ When the wicked rise, people hide themselves;
But when they perish, the righteous increase.

² When the ^(A)righteous ^[a]increase, the people rejoice,
But when a wicked person rules, people groan.

⁶ By wrongdoing an evil person is ^(A)ensnared,
But the righteous ^(B)sings and rejoices.
⁷ The ^(C)righteous ^[a]is concerned for the rights of the poor;
The wicked does not understand such ^[b]concern.

¹⁶ When the wicked ^[a]increase, wrongdoing increases;
But the ^(A)righteous will see their downfall.
