²⁸A lying tongue hates those who are crushed by it,

²⁸A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it;
and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

¹⁶A ruler who lacks understanding is a great ^(A)oppressor,
But he who hates covetousness will prolong his days.

¹⁶The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor:
but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

¹⁰^(A)The bloodthirsty hate the blameless,
But the upright seek his ^[a]well-being.

¹⁰The bloodthirsty hate the upright:
but the just seek his soul.
