Proverbs 26:24-26

Good News Translation

²⁴A hypocrite hides hate behind flattering words. ²⁵They may sound fine, but don't believe him, because his heart is filled to the brim with hate. ²⁶He may disguise his hatred, but everyone will see the evil things he does.

New International Version

²⁴Enemies disguise themselves with their lips,^(A)
    but in their hearts they harbor deceit.^(B)
²⁵Though their speech is charming,^(C) do not believe them,
    for seven abominations fill their hearts.^(D)
²⁶Their malice may be concealed by deception,
    but their wickedness will be exposed in the assembly.

²⁵When he speaketh fair, believe him not: for there are seven abominations in his heart.
