¹⁵ And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”^[a](A)

Psalm 63^[a]

A psalm of David. When he was in the Desert of Judah.

⁶ He said to me: “It is done.^(A) I am the Alpha and the Omega,^(B) the Beginning and the End. To the thirsty I will give water without cost^(C) from the spring of the water of life.^(D)

² So they quarreled with Moses and said, “Give us water^(A) to drink.”^(B)

Moses replied, “Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test?”^(C)

³ But the people were thirsty^(D) for water there, and they grumbled^(E) against Moses. They said, “Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die^(F) of thirst?”

¹⁶ Then she went off and sat down about a bowshot away, for she thought, “I cannot watch the boy die.” And as she sat there, she^[a] began to sob.^(A)

¹⁷ God heard the boy crying,^(B) and the angel of God^(C) called to Hagar from heaven^(D) and said to her, “What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid;^(E) God has heard the boy crying as he lies there. ¹⁸ Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.^(F)”

¹⁹ Then God opened her eyes^(G) and she saw a well of water.^(H) So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.

¹⁵ Here is a trustworthy saying^(A) that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners^(B)—of whom I am the worst.
