but the upright one considers his way.

⁵ There are thorns and snares on the way of the crooked;^(A)
the one who guards himself stays far from them.

¹⁵ Don’t set an ambush, you wicked one,
at the camp of the righteous man;^(A)
don’t destroy his dwelling.
¹⁶ Though a righteous person falls seven times,
he will get up,^(B)
but the wicked will stumble into ruin.^(C)

28 The wicked flee when no one is pursuing them,^(A)
but the righteous are as bold as a lion.^(B)

¹² When the righteous triumph,
