⁸ The way of a guilty person is ^(A)crooked,
But as for the pure, his conduct is upright.

¹¹ One who loves ^(A)purity of heart
And ^[a]whose speech is ^(B)gracious, the king is his friend.

³ Who may ^(A)ascend onto the ^(B)hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy ^(C)place?
⁴ One who has ^(D)clean hands and a ^(E)pure heart,
Who has not ^(F)lifted up his soul to deceit
And has not ^(G)sworn deceitfully.
⁵ He will receive a ^(H)blessing from the Lord
And ^[a](I)righteousness from the God of his salvation.

² But as for me, ^(A)my feet came close to stumbling,
My steps ^[a]had almost slipped.

²⁶ Evil plans are an abomination to the Lord,
But pleasant words are pure.
