¹⁶ The person who strays from common sense
    will end up in the company of the dead.

¹⁸ The wicked are punished in place of the godly,
    and traitors in place of the honest.

²¹ Whoever pursues righteousness and unfailing love
    will find life, righteousness, and honor.

²⁷ The sacrifice of an evil person is detestable,
    especially when it is offered with wrong motives.

⁸ Those who plant injustice will harvest disaster,
    and their reign of terror will come to an end.^[a]

¹⁵ Don’t wait in ambush at the home of the godly,
    and don’t raid the house where the godly live.
¹⁶ The godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again.
    But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked.

26 Honor is no more associated with fools
    than snow with summer or rain with harvest.
