Wisdom’s Worth
2 My son, if you accept my words(A)
and store up my commands within you,
2 listening closely[a] to wisdom
and directing your heart to understanding;
3 furthermore, if you call out to insight
and lift your voice to understanding,
4 if you seek it like silver
and search for it like hidden treasure,(B)
5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord
and discover the knowledge of God.
6 For the Lord gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.(C)
7 He stores up success[b] for the upright;
He is a shield for those who live with integrity(D)
8 so that he may guard the paths of justice
and protect the way of his faithful followers.(E)
9 Then you will understand righteousness, justice,
and integrity—every good path.
10 For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will delight you.
11 Discretion will watch over you,
and understanding will guard you.(F)
12 It will rescue you from the way of evil—
from anyone who says perverse things,
13 from those who abandon the right paths
to walk in ways of darkness,(G)
14 from those who enjoy doing evil(H)
and celebrate perversion,
15 whose paths are crooked,(I)
and whose ways are devious.(J)
16 It will rescue you from a forbidden woman,(K)
from a wayward woman with her flattering talk,(L)
17 who abandons the companion of her youth(M)
and forgets the covenant of her God;
18 for her house sinks down to death
and her ways to the land of the departed spirits.(N)
19 None return who go to her;
none reach the paths of life.(O)
20 So follow the way of the good,(P)
and keep to the paths of the righteous.
21 For the upright will inhabit the land,
and those of integrity will remain in it;(Q)
22 but the wicked will be cut off from the land,(R)
and the treacherous ripped out of it.(S)

Nueva Traducción Viviente
Los beneficios de la sabiduría
2 Hijo mío, presta atención a lo que digo
y atesora mis mandatos.
2 Afina tus oídos a la sabiduría
y concéntrate en el entendimiento.
3 Clama por inteligencia
y pide entendimiento.
4 Búscalos como si fueran plata,
como si fueran tesoros escondidos.
5 Entonces comprenderás lo que significa temer al Señor
y obtendrás conocimiento de Dios.
6 ¡Pues el Señor concede sabiduría!
De su boca provienen el saber y el entendimiento.
7 Al que es honrado, él le concede el tesoro del sentido común.
Él es un escudo para los que caminan con integridad.
8 Él cuida las sendas de los justos
y protege a los que le son fieles.
9 Entonces comprenderás lo que es correcto, justo e imparcial
y encontrarás el buen camino que debes seguir.
10 Pues la sabiduría entrará en tu corazón,
y el conocimiento te llenará de alegría.
11 Las decisiones sabias te protegerán;
el entendimiento te mantendrá a salvo.
12 La sabiduría te salvará de la gente mala,
de los que hablan con palabras retorcidas.
13 Estos hombres se alejan del camino correcto
para andar por sendas tenebrosas.
14 Se complacen en hacer lo malo
y disfrutan los caminos retorcidos del mal.
15 Sus acciones son torcidas,
y sus caminos son errados.
16 La sabiduría te librará de la mujer inmoral,
de las palabras seductoras de la mujer promiscua.
17 Ella abandonó a su marido
y no hace caso del pacto que hizo ante Dios.
18 Entrar a su casa lleva a la muerte;
es el camino a la tumba.[a]
19 El hombre que la visita está condenado;
nunca llegará a los senderos de la vida.
20 Por lo tanto, sigue los pasos de los buenos
y permanece en los caminos de los justos.
21 Pues solo los justos vivirán en la tierra
y los íntegros permanecerán en ella.
22 Pero los perversos serán quitados de la tierra,
y los traidores serán arrancados de raíz.
